Chamaecyparis o. 'Gimborn Beauty' #3

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Gimborn Beauty’ produces the graceful spreading branches, attractive reddish brown bark, and large, upright habit of the species. Its color and texture are unique, though. Feathery, blue, juvenile-type foliage complements elegant sprays of typical adult foliage. The combination gives the tree a softer look, which occasional pruning encourages. Eventually, the familiar gray green, scale-like foliage dominates this beautiful alternative to full size, green Hinoki selections. Best in afternoon shade. Garden size 15' tall and 10' wide. Hardy to Zone 5.
