This dramatic and unusual Japanese maple is renowned for it huge leaves, which are 6 inches or more long and wide. In fall, the foliage puts on a fireworks display of yellow, orange and red. It is best planted where it is shaded from the hot afternoon sun, and will benefit from mulch around the base. Grows up to 15-20' tall and wide. Hardy to Zone 5, and is generally hardier than other Japanese maples.
