This is a rare, dwarf, weeping purple beech that is a small tree with stiffly weeping branches, eventually forming a curtain around the trunk. Coppery red spring foliage with ruffled margins turns purple. Full sun to part shade. Grows slowly, to 10' tall and 8'wide. Hardy to Zone 4.
