‘Fireball’ burning bush is a tough, reliable deciduous shrub best known for its spectacular fall display, when the foliage turns a brilliant scarlet red that rivals traditional burning bush while maintaining a more compact, manageable size. Through the growing season it features clean green foliage on a dense, rounded framework, making it useful as a foundation plant, low hedge, or massed in the landscape for structure and seasonal color.

Inconspicuous greenish flowers appear in spring, followed by subtle ornamental capsules that add minor interest without detracting from the plant’s tidy appearance. ‘Fireball’ performs best in full sun, where fall color is most intense, but it tolerates part shade and a wide range of soils once established. It adapts well to urban conditions and requires minimal maintenance.

Deer resistance is moderate; browsing may occur under heavy pressure but it is not typically a preferred food source.
