Intense wine-red foliage matures to dusky maroon on a large shrub. Huge, feathery panicles in early summer create the overall effect of a cloud of pink smoke. The bright orange-red fall color is outstanding. Can be grown as a large shrub, or trained into small tree. Size can be controlled by pruning back in early spring. It can even be cut to the ground an allowed to start over. It performs best in full sun, growing 10-15' tall with a spread of 8-12'. Hardy to Zone 4.
