This hybrid European birch, in clump form, has burgundy red foliage and white bark, making for a handsome focal point. It has a graceful, pyramidal, somewhat pendulous habit. Best in normal garden soil and full sun, growing 35-40' tall and 20-25' wide. Hardy to Zone 4. We have a stunning clump of Royal FrostĀ®. planted in our arboretum around the year 2000. It does not drop twigs and branches in the wind the way that river birches do.
