The rather fine, ferny foliage of dwarf goat's beard forms a small clump, producing creamy white spikes in early summer. The flowers look like astilbe flowers, but the Aruncus is more drought tolerant. Grows best in part to full shade, where it will grow 12 inches tall. Makes a good companion to hostas and other shade perennials. Hardy to Zone 3.
