Carpinus c. Native Flame® #10

Several names are applies to this native tree, including Blue Beech, American Hornbeam, Ironwood, and Musclewood.  Native Flame® was selected because of its bright red fall color. It's a good understory tree with a smooth, gray, fluted trunk and dark green summer foliage. Grow in full sun to part shade. Handles moist conditions well. Grows 30' tall and 20' wide. Hardy to Zone 4.
