Ann Magnolia
Magnolia ‘Ann’
‘Ann’ magnolia is a compact, deciduous magnolia prized for its rich flower color and dependable performance in colder climates. In mid to late spring, large, goblet-shaped blooms open from deep purple-red buds to glowing shades of pink-purple, often appearing after the threat of hard frost has passed. The flowers are lightly fragrant and create a striking display against the still-bare branches.
Its naturally upright, rounded habit makes ‘Ann’ an excellent choice for smaller yards, foundation plantings, mixed borders, or as a specimen tree where spring color is desired without overwhelming the space. Clean green foliage fills in after bloom, providing a neat summer canopy before turning soft yellow in fall.
