A water bag will allow you to provide a substantial amount of water quickly to your tree without waiting for the water to soak in and without guessing as to how much water you have provided. Just fill the bag with water from a hose, and the water will then slowly trickle down to the tree roots. The roots will be encouraged to follow the water down into the ground.
Green Tower Bags are best for upright trees, trees on slopes, or people who are not able to crouch or get on their hands and knees to fill a water bag. It takes an average of three minutes to fill a 20 gallon water bag with a hose, versus 20+ minutes to deeply water individual trees. The goal is not to keep the bag full, but to fill it each time you water and allow it to slowly release the 20 gallons to penetrate deep into the soil and allow for strong and deep root development, which makes your tree or shrub more resistant to weather and drought.
