No other ornamental tree puts on quite the spring show of the Eastern Redbud. In full sun, it has a rounded, dense outline. In part shade to full shade, where this native grows naturally, it has gracefully ascending branches, reaching for sunlight. The vibrant, purple-pink flowers bloom all along the branches before the bluish-green, heart-shaped foliage emerges. The tree grows 20-30' tall with a spread of 25-35', and is hardy to Zone 4.
