This single stem, yellow flowering Magnolia is perfect for smaller landscapes. While it still reaches 20-25' high like other full size magnolias, it only spreads out 8-10' wide. The striking 7" long tulip-shaped yellow flowers are held upright with a rosy-purple base. Since this hybrid flowers later in the season (mid to late spring), the blossoms aren't nearly as susceptible to frost damage. Prefers moist, well-drained soils and will grow poorly if planted in heavy clay or wet locations. As with all Magnolias, prune in mid-summer to avoid damage. Full sun to part shade is best. Hardy to Zone 5.
