This Blackhaw Viburnum puts on a good display from spring through fall. Spring foliage emerges red, then turns pink and finally green for the summer. Fragrant white flowers appear in early spring. Fall foliage is red and yellow. The plant naturally forms a large, upright shrub, growing 12-15' tall and 10-12' wide. However, it can be trained into a small tree by simply selecting a main trunk or a few main trunks for a multi-stemmed tree, and pruning away the rest of the lower growth. It makes a good privacy hedge if kept as a shrub. Very hardy to Zone 4.
