Malus 'Fuji' #15

One of the very best of homegrown varieties, Fugi is great for eating off the tree, culinary uses or as a dessert apple. It is loaded with fragrant white flowers in late mid-season (mid/late Spring) that attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. These flowers will need to be pollinated in order to fruit, so it's important to pair it with a variety that blooms at the same time, allowing for cross pollination. Gala, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, and Honeycrisp are all pollinators. Once Fuji's flowers get pollinated, they transform over the course of the season into apples with crisp, sweet, juicy flesh that delivers a flavor that is well balanced in sweetness and tartness. This particular 'Fuji' is semi-dwarf, growing to 12-14' tall and wide. Grows in full sun and is hardy to Zone 4.
