'Prairiefire' blooms a little later than most crabs, producing an intense show of raspberry red flowers. The maroon foliage provides color through the rest of the season. Good disease resistance. The crown becomes rounded with maturity, growing 20' tall and wide. Persistent fruit remains on the tree for the birds to claim at their leisure. Hardy to Zone 4.
