This native tree is an upright grower with large, dark green leaves and large, white flower clusters in early June. Grow in sun to part shade, 50' tall with a spread of 35'. Hardy to Zone 5. This is a fun tree to have on your property. The flower show is excellent and the large leaves have a tropical look. When deciding where to locate the tree, keep in mind that the large flowers can fall and land on hosta leaves, and the tree develops long seed pods, some of which fall in autumn, and some over winter and in the spring. The pods look cool hanging from the branches in the winter.
