An exceptionally floriferous, full Butterfly Bush. Flower panicles are notable wide and long, measuring more than 8" in length while in peak bloom. Individual flowers are a bright rose pink color. Excellent heat and drought tolerance when established. Popular with pollinators; an excellent food source for butterflies.
Plant in full sun. Grows 4.5' tall and wide. Hardy to Zone 5. Wait until spring to cut back last year's stems. Some new growth may come from the stems, and new growth will come from the ground. Mulch around the plant to help the roots get through winter.
Butterfly Bushes have certainly earned their place in the garden over the years, and its easy to see why. Just when we need a breath of fresh air in the late summer heat, they happily burst into bloom. At a time when many other plants are already spent, buddleias are just beginning their show. Their passive coloring and texture makes a wonderful backdrop for perennials, and you'll love the butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds that flock to their honey-scented blossoms.
