Epimedium 'Cranberry Dancer' #1

The fine features and delicate textures of this barrenwort will set your shade garden dancing whenever a spring breeze passes through. Cranberry red sepals have dark centers, leading to yellow wingtips. Backs of the sepals are a rosy red with a cream margin. A vibrant color combination and a color break among Epimedium! Long lance-shaped leaves are medium green with a moderate amount of bronzing in cooler temperatures. 'Cranberry Dancer' improves on traditional varieties with large flowers and exceptionally long flower stems, producing blooms for many weeks in spring.

The foliage grows around 12" tall and can slowly spread up to 36" wide. The flowers float above the foliage up to 24" tall. Grows in full to part shade, and is hardy to Zone 5.

Epimedium are one of the few plants capable of surviving in dry shade. Although slow to establish, mature plants will not be missed in the landscape, particularly when in flower. These plants are appreciated for their durability and critter resistance, but loved for the long sprays of jester hat-like flowers in spring.
