Wild Bergamot or Wild Bee Balm. Pale purple flowers and foliage fragrant when crushed. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil, although fairly soil- adaptable. Less susceptible to powdery mildew than cultivated varieties. Can grow to 5′. Food source for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and songbirds. Generally grows 3-4' tall and 2-3' wide. Hardy to Zone 3.
