Jacob's Ladder is a great native for woodland settings. It has attractive ferny foliage and produces clusters of blue, bell-shaped flowers in May-June. Attracts butterflies and other pollinators, and is deer resistant. Best in part shade with moist but well drained soil. Grows 8-12" tall and 18-24" wide. Hardy to Zone 3.
