The tree grows somewhat flat-topped, up to around 25' tall and wide. Dark green leaves turn an attractive shade of rusty red in the fall. Bright red fruits are bitter and inedible to humans, but are loved by birds. fruits mature in late summer to early fall and may persist until late in the year. Plant in full sun to part shade. It's probably best in some afternoon shade out of the winter winds. Hardy to Zone 5.
