Dianthus Fruit Punch® ‘Sweetie Pie’ is a charming, low-mounded perennial with silvery blue-green, grassy foliage topped by countless semi-double, pastel-pink flowers (each with a subtle deeper-pink eye) that resemble miniature carnations. The blooms appear in early summer, and often again in early fall if deadheaded, completely covering the foliage and producing a fragrant splash of color. I grows about 10" tall by 12-14" wide and is hardy in zones 4–9. It prefers full sun to part shade, well-drained soil, and tolerates heat, humidity, drought, and even salt once established. The plant is pollinator-friendly (bees and butterflies) and is generally ignored by deer, making it a versatile, low-maintenance choice for edging, small borders, or front-of-bed planting.
