Festuca ‘Perfect Edging’ is a taller variety of fescue with fine, blue-green foliage and creamy margins. The variegation is most pronounced when it emerges in the early spring. The foliage forms a neat, rounded mound that grows 14-18" tall and 18-24" wide, while the flower scapes carrying light tan-colored seed heads reach 30-34" tall. The flowers appear in early summer and remain upright through the end of the season. Festuca arundinacea is excellent for soil conservation and erosion control. Festuca requires plenty of sun, but wouldn't complain about a little afternoon shade to protect from the summer heat.
