Dicentra ‘White Diamonds’ is a fern-leaved bleeding heart hybrid that brings delicate, glaucous blue-green foliage topped with sprays of pure white, heart-shaped blooms. Performs for a long bloom season beginning in spring and often continuing through summer into fall. It reaches about 14–16 inches tall with a 16–18 inch spread. This is an alpine type of bleeding heart and is not a shade plant, like the bleeding hearts we traditionally know to be woodland plants. 'White Diamonds' grows best in sun to part shade and needs well-drained soil (avoid heavy clay or constantly soggy ground). The delicate blooms attract bees and hummingbirds, while the finely textured foliage and neat mound habit add value even when not in bloom.
