#1

Oenothera missouriensis is a low-growing, spreading perennial prized for its large, luminous yellow flowers that open in the late afternoon, evening, early morning, and during overcast weather, often glowing against the foliage when many other plants pause in summer heat. Blooming from late spring through summer, the flowers sit just above a clean, silvery-green mat of trailing foliage, creating strong visual impact even with only a few blooms open at a time. In addition to daytime appeal from its foliage and form, it supports evening and night-pollinating insects. Missouri evening primrose thrives where other plants struggle — handling heat, drought, and poor soil with ease — while producing bold, glowing flowers that shine in the cooler hours of the day and add beauty to even the toughest sunny spots.
