Prairie Dream® Birch is a cold-hardy hybrid birch selected for its strong central leader, improved heat tolerance, and attractive white, exfoliating bark. Combining traits of European white birch and paper birch, it offers better adaptability to Midwestern conditions than many traditional birches. Clean green foliage forms a light, airy canopy through summer before turning yellow in fall. The creamy white bark provides excellent winter interest, especially on mature trunks. Best grown in full sun with moist, well-drained soils, Prairie Dream® performs well as a specimen or shade tree and shows improved tolerance to summer heat and stress compared to older birch selections.
