Astilbe ‘Chocolate Shogun’ makes a statement with glossy, dark chocolate-brown to burgundy foliage that holds its rich color all season. In early to mid-summer it produces soft pink flower plumes that rise above the foliage, adding elegant texture and attracting pollinators. This variety thrives in partial shade with rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil, and it is deer resistant.
