Alpenglow® Maple

Hybrid Maple — Upright Red‑Leafed Specimen

The Alpenglow® Maple is an upright, red‑leafed hybrid maple created by Iseli Nursery (a cross of Acer palmatum and Acer pseudosieboldianum) — bred for cold hardiness and performance in climates down to –30 °F (USDA Zone 4). 

From early spring onward, deep merlot-colored leaves unfurl on graceful, arching branches that catch the light and glow with translucent veins. Over summer the foliage may mellow to a burnished bronze, and in autumn the tree delivers a dramatic finale of blazing oranges, crimsons, and reds — making it a vivid, four-season statement. 

With a refined oval to upright habit and sturdy branching, Alpenglow® makes a majestic centerpiece. Mature size is roughly 20′ tall × 15′ wide (though young versions are beautiful in smaller landscapes or large containers).
