Bring a taste of the Australian outback to your garden with the architectural brilliance of Anigozanthos 'Bush Glow'. Part of the celebrated Bush Gems® series, this variety is a true showstopper, producing multiple flower spikes topped with uniquely fuzzy, tubular blooms. The flowers emerge in a brilliant golden-yellow that matures into a rich, warm orange, all held on contrasting, velvety red stems. The "paw" shape of the blooms isn't just for show; the curious texture and claw-like appearance provide a prehistoric, exotic look that stands out in any setting.

The foliage consists of upright, sword-like fans in a deep, leathery green, reminiscent of an iris but with a more rugged, desert-ready feel. Its growth habit is clump-forming and vertical, offering a strong sense of upward motion and structural "pop" in mixed borders or large patio containers. 'Bush Glow' is a sun-lover through and through; it thrives in full sun and requires excellent drainage to keep its roots happy. Once established, it is remarkably drought-tolerant and can handle the most intense summer heat without losing its glow.

Wildlife & Unique Features: If you want to see hummingbirds do a double-take, this is the plant to get! The tubular flowers are perfectly designed for their beaks, and they find the nectar irresistible. Because of its unique, leathery leaf texture and Australian origins, it is naturally deer and rabbit resistant. While it is a perennial in frost-free climates (Zones 9-11), it is most often grown in the Midwest as a high-performance, long-blooming annual. It also makes an exceptional cut flower, with the "paws" lasting for weeks in a vase and even holding their color beautifully when dried.

Why We Love It: It’s like having a piece of living art in the garden! We love the way the light catches the "fuzz" on the stems, making the whole plant appear to glow at sunset. It is incredibly tough, looks like nothing else in the neighborhood, and provides a non-stop supply of nectar for our local hummingbirds from spring until the first frost.
