‘Super Rooster’ is a vigorous hybrid chestnut valued for its large, sweet nuts, rapid growth, and improved disease resistance compared to traditional American chestnuts. In early summer, showy creamy white catkins appear, adding ornamental interest and supporting pollinators. This cultivar requires cross-pollination with another chestnut variety for reliable nut production. Spiny burs mature in fall, releasing flavorful chestnuts well suited for roasting and fresh eating. Long, glossy green leaves create a bold summer canopy before turning yellow to yellow-brown in autumn.
