Eastern White Pine is a classic native evergreen valued for its soft, flexible needles and graceful, pyramidal form. Long blue-green needles are held in clusters of five, giving the tree a fine, airy texture that moves beautifully in the wind. Upright cones add ornamental interest and provide food for wildlife. As an Illinois native, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils and adapts to a wide range of landscape conditions. Once established, Eastern White Pine develops good drought tolerance and makes an excellent choice for large landscapes, windbreaks, and naturalized plantings where space allows.
