Tree form of the popular Vanilla Strawberry produces huge white flowers that turn pink, then red, and hold their color. New blooms keep the multi-color show going into fall. Red stems add winter interest. May need staked when young until the trunk thickens and strengthens. Prune back the top by half or more in early spring on a young plant to prevent it from becoming too top-heavy. Plant in sun to part shade. Flowers hold up better in afternoon shade. Grows 8-10' tall and 6-8' wide. Hardy to Zone 4.
