This is the standard for hardy rhododendrons in the upper Midwest. Evergreen foliage turns purple in fall. Masses of vivid lavender-pink flowers put on a spectacular show in early spring. Grows best in afternoon shade and acid soil. Gets 4-5' tall with a spread of 3-5. Hardy to Zone 4.
