This late panicle hydrangea produces abundant, showy white flowers aging to pink in mid to late August. The flowers are borne in pointed clusters six inches long. Grows in sun to part shade, 6-10' tall and wide. If desired, prune stems back by half or more in early spring to control size and shape. It can be pruned back hard, if necessary. We have had a row of 'Tardiva' planted by the garden center parking lot since the mid nineties, putting on a great show every August. Hardy to Zone 3. Water well throughout the dry season, grouped plantings of panicle hydrangeas in full sun can be spectacular!
