A hardy hybrid of Korean and Japanese maple, combining the hardiness and durability of the Korean maple with the beauty of the Japanese maple. The first leaves of spring explode onto the scene with hot red-orange tones and begin to cool by mid-spring to swirling flames of orange and yellow and then green with hints of red in summer. Small, star-shaped leaves cover the narrow upright tree which broadens with maturity. Plant in sun to part shade. Grows up to 20' tall and 15' wide. Hardy to Zone 5.
