This large sport of H. sieboldiana 'Elegans' was the most popular hosta for many years when we first started growing hostas. The thick, corrugated, blue-green, leaves have wide, gold margins. The leaves often develop spring "burn"--brown patches on the yellow portions of the leaves. This is apparently caused by a combination of excessive wetness and spring sun. Hosta enthusiasts will still want to grow this hosta as a tribute to one of the early pioneers in the hosta world. Grows 22" tall and 48" wide. Near white flowers in mid summer.
