KodiakĀ® Red is a native flowering shrub that looks great while shrugging off shade and problem soils. New growth emerges in spring with a deep burgundy tone, and turns vivid red in fall. During summer, leaves maintain a reddish hue, while clusters of yellow flowers appear all season. This low maintenance plant requires little pruning, but if you'd like to prune it, do so in early spring. If it starts to get a little sparse, cut it back to the ground in early spring for a fresh start. It resists deer and attracts bees and butterflies. Grows 3-4' tall and 4-5' wide in sun or shade, and is hardy to Zone 4.
