A wonderful, reblooming lacecap hydrangea with abundant blue or pink blooms all summer on both old and new wood. Sturdy red stems and burgundy fall foliage add to the appeal. Best grown in afternoon shade, 3-4' tall and wide. To ensure early blooms from old wood, try dumping a bag of mulch in the middle of the plant in November, before really cold weather to protect some of the lower buds. Wait until late April to pull back the mulch and trim the stems back to a few buds. Hardy to Zone 4.
