Honeycrisp is an extremely popular variety for good reasons. It has a wonderful display of white flowers in the spring followed by a heavy crop of medium/large, yellow/red apples. The name comes from their predominately sweet flavor with hints of honey and its crisp, juicy flesh. It makes for a wonderfully sweet snacking apple, but it's also prized for its pies and sauces. Cross pollinates with other mid season varieties such as 'Red Delicious', 'Gala', 'Fuji', and 'Golden Delicious'. Prefers full sun and grows 12-14' tall and wide. Hardy to Zone 4.
