An outstanding new dwarf selection, this upright tree boasts very dense, compact branching, which yields a round-to-ovate outline. It has mid-size, palmate leaves with a bright red, spring flush that darkens as leaves mature. Fall foliage is an eye-catching orange/red, and in winter, dark red stems add drama to the scene. Grows 6' tall and 6' wide in 10 years and will continue to slowly grow larger with age. Best planted in a protected area like the east side of a house or windscreen. Tolerates full sun, but leaves tend to burn in a late hot summer if it receives too much sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade is preferred. Hardy to Zone 5.
